  •  ”Does this collaboration mean that the JC school will be a sister school by the same owners?”

We are working closely with Anne-Sophie and Jean-François Gueguen from The French Academy of Bilingual Culture, based in New Milford, NJ. They have already created an additional campus in Morris Plains, NJ. We like their philosophy a lot and a school like theirs would be a fantastic asset for our local community here in Jersey City.

  • “We do a little French at home via CDs with nursery rhymes with my 9 month-old son but neither I nor my husband speak French. I would love to still have my son be part of the program, I hope that it is OK!”

Absolutely! The afterschool program (Fall 2012) will of course take into account the children’s exposure to French language & culture at home. The school curriculum (September 2013) will be designed to enable children from different linguistic background & cultures to reach the same milestones by the end of the year.

  • “My child will be 5 in september 2013, does it mean he will only be able to stay 2 years in the French-American school?”

No — we are hoping to open a full-time French-American preschool (Nursery through 1st Grade) in September 2013, then open a new grade each year to follow the children’s progression.

  • “For 2013 do we have to commit now?”

For the opening of the full-time school in September 2013,  we will need a financial commitment as early as January/February 2013. For the opening of the afterschool program, we will need a financial commitment in July/August 2012 — of course we will keep you updated on these important financial deadlines & budget issues.

  • “Can you tell us which properties you’ve already looked at in JC?”

We’re right into it! It’s a little early to mention an exact location as we don’t want to set high expectations or disappoint anyone in case it falls through, but we can tell you we have already visited an interesting location in Downtown Jersey City, and have plans to visit two other places by the end of this week in the Journal Square / Jersey City Heights area. Of course we’ll keep you updated as soon as things are finalized!
